It All Points to Jesus

Numbers lays out the sacred calendar: Passover, the Feast of Weeks, the Feast of Trumpets, the Day of Atonement — festival after festival, sacrifice after sacrifice. The rhythm reminded Israel of God's redemption, yet every repeated offering whispered that permanent atonement had not yet arrived. Then Luke traces Jesus' genealogy backward past David and Abraham all the way to Adam, "the son of God" (Luke 3:38). Jesus steps directly into the human family tree. Where the first Adam fell and brought death to his descendants, Jesus enters our genealogy as the Last Adam — the true Passover Lamb the festivals were always pointing toward. David's confidence becomes ours: "He alone is my rock, my salvation, and my fortress. I will never be greatly shaken" (Psalm 62:2). It ALL points to Jesus.

Reflect

When life feels shaky or unpredictable, where do I instinctively seek stability? Am I resting entirely upon Jesus as my only Rock and Salvation?

Fellowship

Talk with someone about this: What is one past moment when God proved to be your rock in a season of trouble?

Prayer

Father, thank You for Your faithfulness through every generation. Thank You for Jesus, our true Passover Lamb, our sure foundation, and our eternal Savior. Lord Jesus, help me not only to know Your Word but to live it. Transform my heart so that my life reflects You more each day. Amen.

Live

Rest your weight upon the Rock. When anxious thoughts arise, speak Psalm 62:2 over your day and let Christ be your confidence.
