It All Points to Jesus

Day 252 · September 9

A devotional for today

Today’s readings

Old Testament

Judah's pride, injustice, and self-indulgence bring ruin. The vineyard God carefully tended produces rotten fruit instead of righteousness.

New Testament

Paul warns the church about false apostles and a counterfeit message. Devotion to Christ must not be traded for something that merely sounds spiritual.

Psalm

Humanity's corruption is widespread; we need God to bring salvation.

Proverb

Respect rightful boundaries, and remember that skillful work opens doors for service.

Discover

Isaiah's vineyard fails to produce good fruit, and Paul warns against a false Jesus. We need the true Savior, not religious imitation. Christ alone can make His people fruitful.

Reflect

Where might pride or spiritual imitation be replacing simple devotion to Jesus?

Fellowship

How can we recognize teaching that sounds spiritual but pulls us away from Christ?

Go around the group and complete this sentence: “This week I saw Jesus in ______.” Keep it simple and give everyone room to answer.

Prayer

True Jesus, keep me close to Your Word and protect me from pride and deception. Amen.

Live

Measure one belief or influence today against Scripture rather than popularity.
