It All Points to Jesus

Day 201 · July 20

A devotional for today

Today’s readings

Old Testament

Solomon receives wisdom and begins building the Temple. The work is large because it is meant to honor the Lord.

New Testament

Believers are united with Christ in His death and resurrection. Grace is not permission to remain in sin; we are called to new life.

Psalm

God is our secure portion and shows us the path of life.

Proverb

Wise counsel should be received, not ignored.

Discover

The Temple is being built as a place of God’s presence. Romans tells us that in Christ an even deeper work is underway: old life dies and new life begins.

Reflect

What old pattern needs to stay buried rather than be carried into new life?

Fellowship

What does it mean practically to be alive to God in Christ?

Prayer

Jesus, help me walk in the new life You purchased for me. Amen.

Live

Choose one action today that belongs to your new life in Christ.
