Day 179 · June 28
A devotional for today
Today’s readings
- Old Testament: 2 KINGS 13:1-14:29
- New Testament: ACTS 18:23-19:12
- Psalm: PSALM 146:1-10
- Proverb: PROVERBS 18:2-3
Old Testament
Israel and Judah cycle through kings, wars, victories, and failures. God continues showing mercy, but human leadership keeps proving unable to rescue the heart.
New Testament
Apollos is teachable and grows in understanding. In Ephesus, disciples receive fuller instruction and the name of the Lord Jesus is honored through genuine Spirit-empowered ministry.
Psalm
Do not put ultimate trust in princes. The LORD reigns and cares for the vulnerable.
Proverb
Fools resist understanding and prefer airing their own opinions. A teachable heart listens.
Discover
Apollos shows that strong teachers still need to keep learning. Jesus forms humble disciples who receive correction and then help others.
Reflect
Am I teachable when someone helps me understand God’s Word more accurately?
Fellowship
Share one place in today’s reading where you saw Jesus more clearly. Then discuss the reflection question together.
Prayer
Lord Jesus, keep my eyes on You and shape my life by Your Word. Holy Spirit, give me grace to trust, obey, and follow You today. Amen.
Live
Receive correction without defensiveness and keep learning. Lord Jesus, help me not only to know Your Word but to live it. Transform my heart so that my life reflects You more each day.
