Day 161 · June 10
A devotional for today
Today’s readings
- Old Testament: 1 KINGS 7:1-51
- New Testament: ACTS 7:30-50
- Psalm: PSALM 128:1-6
- Proverb: PROVERBS 16:31-33
Old Testament
The Temple furnishings are completed with beauty and skill. Human hands can build a house for worship, but no building can contain the living God.
New Testament
Stephen reminds his hearers that Moses met God outside the promised land and that the Most High cannot be contained by temples made with hands.
Psalm
God’s blessing is pictured in a life ordered around reverence for Him.
Proverb
Gray hair can be a crown of honor; finishing faithfully matters.
Discover
Stephen makes the point plainly: God is bigger than our buildings. Jesus brings God’s presence near and forms His people into a living temple.
Reflect
Have I confused a church building or routine with the living presence of God?
Fellowship
Share one place in today’s reading where you saw Jesus more clearly. Then discuss the reflection question together.
Prayer
Lord Jesus, keep my eyes on You and shape my life by Your Word. Holy Spirit, give me grace to trust, obey, and follow You today. Amen.
Live
Meet with God Himself, not merely with a religious routine. Lord Jesus, help me not only to know Your Word but to live it. Transform my heart so that my life reflects You more each day.
